EXPLORE is an opportunity for artists of any level and discipline to sample the TAD experience - a week filled with live demos, visiting professionals, and advice from some of the star students. For five days this November, The Art Department(TAD) is offering an exclusive sneak-peek inside the virtual classrooms through EXPLORE, an introduction to TAD Interact with the esteemed faculty and industry professionals such as Jon Foster, George Pratt, Sterling Hundley, and others. He recently published the 64-page hardcover called Autodraw, Concept Book Vol 1, which collects mostly his personal work and some from the film industry.

Sergio Toppi

Italian cartoonist, Sergio Toppi, often gets referenced as a source of inspiration by artists all over the world.

After starting out in animation and advertising he began doing comics in the 60's. Toppi's works appeared on a host of titles in Italy and abroad: an incomplete list could include Linus, Corto Maltese, Sgt. Kirk and Il Giornalino in Italy. His strips were collected in several books.

He is currently working with the French publisher Mosquito, with which he has made 22 books since 1994.

2.International Sketching Symposium


The Urban Sketching Symposium is a three-day workshop where artists from around the world meet to draw together. The Portuguese capital of Lisbon is the host city of this year's event, which will take place from July 21 -23, 2011 at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.
